Jan Freiberg (b. 1976) was born in Strakonice. He studied at the Studio of photography at the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design at Univerzita Jana Evangelisty Purkyně in Ústí and Labem, and the program Theory and History of Design and New Media at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. In 2010, he founded the Galerie na Shledanou in the former mourning hall of the Malsička cemetery in Volyně. Between 2012 – 2015 he led the association Oživme si Strakonice. Since 2019, he has been working as the director of the František Drtikol Gallery in Příbram. He was co-curator of many exhibitions, for example Fotografie?? at the Klatovy-Klenová gallery or Husákovo 3 + 1 at Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design.
