CCA – Club for Realistic Activities
Jakub Minářů
“Order and form is tolerable only in the presence of disorder and anti-form.… Klub korealistických aktivit (or ‘cca’) is a club which was created to give people at least one striking encounter with art in the form of an ‘instant experience’, a quick and painless exit from all social ideologies.… cca works for anyone anywhere…” Jakub Minářů is the initiator and archivist of “cca”, as well as a painter, performer, owner and caretaker of the TICHO46 space in Starý Pelhřimov, where he moved into his grandparents’ flat after his studies at Prague’s Academy of Fine Arts. He organizes and helps organize open gatherings, regular and occasional, which connect the spoken word, images, music, events, as well as breakfast vernissages and concerts. The breakfast sometimes becomes lunch, as visitors may travel some distance from various parts of the country. He uses the farm buildings of TICHO46 as an exhibition space, and outside contemporary poetry is presented in a monumental “billboard” format called the SO.LARg.PANE.L. Minářů collaborates with publisher, poet and musician Aleš Kauer, the organizer of Jihlava’s literary-musical festival Kvílení. He has been preparing the program of Galerie Živá hodnota for the Oblastní Galerie Vysočiny in Jihlava, focusing on the commonality of images, and in collaboration with actors from the Horácké divadlo, he also offered literary as well as (street) performance. The transgression of boundaries and social constructs, as well as an ostentatious (self)reflexivity, are clearly on display in Jakub’s personal “paintings.” He thematizes the medium itself, exhausting a great number of approaches and forms, ranging from figurative, classically structured aquarelles and oil paintings to more provocative concepts. However, he always retains a fine eye for color and space, their absence, and their mutual harmony — these are, after all, always cca related.
