Cesta - Ctibor’s Mill
In the 1990s, American musicians Hilary Binder, a drummer and singer, and Chris Rankin, a bassist, who had had toured the world with their band Sabot, settled in the dilapidated Ctibor’s Mill in the Tábor valley. Over a number of years, they have received hundreds of visitors at their Cultural Exchange Station for various multi-genre festivals, exhibitions, happenings, film screenings, and theatre events. The ethos of punk and alternative, together with their drive and artistic inspiration, which most locals have found strange to say the least, was captured by Filip Remunda in his 2001 short film Chris and Hilary on the Road. Today, Chris is still active at the Mill and is an ongoing presence in the Tabor culture scene.
