Kuprospěchu
The activities of the Chomutov-based association Kuprospěchu are directed towards cultural and social regeneration of the Ústí nad Labem region. Its members believe that the region is currently undergoing an economic and physical rejuvenation, but that it is also necessary to “regenerate” the local community. The association was founded by students and fresh graduates of universities and middle schools who decided to bring life back to the area of northwest Bohemia, which is still trying to recuperate from the effects of past industrialization. The problem is that young people often leave the Chomutov area right after their studies. The Kuprospěchu members are attempting to play their role in the improvement of the life standard in the Ústí nad Labem region and also help mitigate this displacement of young people. They rented out and ran a cultural space in the former Evropa cinema in the Březenecká suburb of Chomutov, but after their lease wasn’t prolonged they started focusing on organizing single events in public space. Their other projects include the Mozaika platform, which maps normalization-era art in public space and they also organize the Czech-German music festival Cumbajšpíl / Zum Beispiel and other events.
