Offcity

The Offcity association continues in the activities of the project of the same name which has been active since 2008, mostly around the region of Pardubice. It attempts to create space for communicating with the municipality, and initiates discussion on current topics mostly dealing with the public spaces of Pardubice. It is also interested in creating artistic works and activities for the city’s public spaces, and supporting their new projects designed by young artists, architects and art school students. Offcity understands the city as a structure and a living organism, as social, artistic and architectural matter in which it creates space for communication and interaction. It teaches the public to understand art and culture as something wholly natural, which is and ought to be part of our environment. Offcity supports other initiatives, for example adding to the creation of the Karlovy Vary-based group Vzbuďme Vary, with whom it continues to collaborate. They organize lectures, discussions, workshops and interventions in the city’s public space, experience tours and creative residencies.
