Ondřej Navrátil (b. 1980) graduated with a degree in art education and art history at Masaryk University in Brno, as well as receiving a degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Czech Technical University in Brno. He is currently part of the faculty at the Department of Art Education of the Pedagogical Faculty of Masaryk University, where he teaches art history and runs seminars on contemporary art. In 2011, him and his friends founded the independent gallery OFF/FORMAT where he works as a curator. He is interested in the overlap between art and environmental issues. He has written a book on this discourse entitled Zelené ostrovy: České umění ve věku environmentalismu 1960-2000 (Brno: Masarykova univerzita 2017). He has collaborated on the animated publications popularizing art history To bych zvládl taky (Brno: Masarykova univerzita 2016) and To je starý (Brno: OFF/FORMAT 2019). He sometimes publishes with Artalk, Kulturní Noviny and others, and has been exhibiting in regional galleries.
