Janov Community Center

Libuše is an ecological cultural center in Janov, operating under the auspices of the MY Litvínov Society. It aims to support the sustainable development of the city of Litvínov. The center resides in a villa dating from 1900, which stands in the center of Litvínov’s Janov suburb, which had for a long time been considered an excluded locality. The center provides space for social gathering and a safe area for leisure time, respecting the rights and differences of everyone. The project focuses on developing good character in the community, strengthening community ties, improving neighborhood relationships, as well as offering a range of cultural activities for leisure time in Janov. It also educates people on the basics of ecological thinking. The project’s main initiator is Petr Globočník, who bought the Villa Libuše in 2019, and has since been renovating it. His goal is to develop a community center and garden in cooperation with the local residents and revitalize the whole area.
